If gift baskets were a love language – it would be mine! There is nothing I love more than picking a theme and crafting a gift basket around it – the options are truly endless! And, gift baskets can be gifted for practically any occasion – just because, holiday, birthday, housewarming, shower gift for prizes, teacher gifts…you name it! I think everyone loves gift baskets so much because it’s really like a million little gifts, all wrapped in one – who wouldn’t love that?!
Like most of my best creative ideas, this gift basket theme came to me while I was at Target, ha! A few weeks ago, I was in the baking/kitchen section of Target (per usual) and was so inspired by all of the stunning bakeware. I thought “wow, this would make a beautiful gift basket!” – and I ran with it! Target has the most beautiful bakeware & accessories…it was too easy to craft this gorgeous basket – while shopping in practically one aisle!
What You’ll Need
Wide Basket or Bin (the one I used is from The Container store!)
Baking Sheet
Cooling Rack
Stainless Steel Measuring Cups
Wooden Spoon
Wooden Spatula
Wood + Silicone Spatula
Glass Measuring Cup
Pot Holder
Oven Mitt
Stainless Steel Mixing Bowl
Fringe/Striped Kitchen Towels
Gray/White Striped Kitchen Towels
Mason Jar
Chocolate Chip Cookie In-A-Jar
A piece that really ties the entire basket together – is the “Chocolate Chip Cookie In-A-Jar”. Basically, it’s all of the dry ingredients that are required to make a batch of chocolate chip cookies. The gift receiver will just need to add a few wet ingredients (that they will most likely have hanging around the house) – and voila! You can layer all of the ingredients in a pretty, oversized or extra-wide mason jar and it’s the most beautiful, fun addition to the basket! I also created a recipe square print-out with my chocolate chip cookie recipe on it – so you can print it out, and tape or glue it to the outside of the mason jar. Download & print it below!
Putting It All Together
There’s no right or wrong way to put together a gift basket – it normally takes me a few tries to get it right and the way I want it! A trick that I use if the box is deeper & you don’t have enough to fill it – use old empty gift boxes or shipping boxes in the bottom of the basket or crate to boost all of the contents up. That’s what I did here! Then, use the kitchen towels to hide the box if necessary. Draping the kitchen towels over the sides of the basket will also add some beautiful contrast.
