minutesSometimes, the hardest thing for me to decide when it comes to food, is what healthy snack to make or eat! I want something that makes me feel full, satisfied, and is a good balance of protein/carbs/fat. That’s why protein bites have been my go-to for years! There are truly so many options when it comes to flavors and types you can make. I’m a big banana bread lover, so these Banana Walnut Protein Bites are truly some of my favorite. It’s like a little touch of banana bread in each bite! Feel free to make without nuts if you prefer. Chia seeds would be a great sub. Enjoy!
Ingredients
1 ripe mashed banana
1/2 cup creamy natural peanut butter (or any nut butter of your choice)
1/4 cup honey
1 tsp. cinnamon
1/2 cup crushed walnuts
1/4 tsp. salt
2 cups old fashioned oats
2 scoops protein powder (I used BPN Vanilla Whey!)
Directions
- Add all dry ingredients (oats, protein powder, salt, cinnamon) to a medium/large bowl and stir until combined fully.
- Add in wet ingredients. (mashed banana, peanut butter and honey) Continue to stir until fully combined.
- Lastly, add in walnuts until evenly distributed into the batter.
- Start to form spoon-sized balls. If the batter is to sticky or wet, add extra oats or protein powder. If it’s too dry, add in more nut butter by the spoonful until you’ve reached a texture where you can form the balls.
- Store bites in airtight container in the fridge until ready to eat or serve. Good for up to a week!
