Charcuterie boards are always a crowd favorite – who doesn’t love cheese, crackers & all of the fun fixings to go with it? That’s why harcuterie boards have always been my go-to when it comes to entertaining + hosting…they are a crowd favorite, they are beautiful and believe it or not – relatively easy to put together, although I know it can be intimidating!
So for that reason, I’m sharing my tried-and-true tips when it comes to putting together the most beautiful, delicious charcuterie board.
I only have one rule when it comes to crafting the perfect charcuterie board: you shouldn’t be able to see the bottom of the board. The fuller…the more beautiful. Let’s get into it!
Step 1: Cheese
Cheese should be the foundation of every board. Here are a few of my favorites that you can find at your local grocery:
– Jarlsberg
– Wensleydale (these are traditionally fruit-infused cheeses, I love cranberry + apricot!)
– Goat cheese
– Gouda
– Cheddar
– Brie
– Parmesan
– Gruyere
– Cubed cheese (this is great for filling empty spaces)
Step 2: Meat
Meats are another foundation of the board, but sometimes it can be hard to display them in a pretty way. Watch the video to see how I love to display some of my meats with the “rose method”. Here are my favorite meats to include:
– Prosciutto
– Aged salami
– Summer sausage
– Soppressata
Step 3: Fun Fillers
This is the fun, creative part! These fun fillers are the way you can really make your board full, elevated and beautiful. Remember, we don’t want to be able to see the bottom of the board. Here are some of my favorite things to fill the board with:
– Grapes
– Honeycomb/honey
– Olives
– Dried figs
– Crackers
– Fig Jam
– Nuts
– Pomegranate seeds
– Dark chocolate
– Herbs (rosemary, thyme, sage)
– Berries
