You all probably know by now that the choice of drink in the bare household is a margarita! I was always an original marg kind of gal, nothing fancy – until Nick & I went on our Jackson Hole trip! The resort we stayed at had THE BEST spicy margaritas. As soon as we got home, I knew I had to try to recreate it. The special touch: a rim that his half chili powder & half sea salt. If you like spicy, you will love this margarita recipe!

Ingredients

  • 2 oz. tequila

  • 1 oz. triple sec

  • 1 oz orange juice

  • 2 oz. fresh squeezed lime juice

  • jalapeno slices, seeded

  • 1.5 tsp agave nectar or honey

  • 2 oz diet soda water (I use topochico)

  • ice

  • For The Rim
  • lime juice

  • chili powder (I like to use Spiceology’s chili margarita seasoning)

  • sea salt or rimming salt

Directions

  • Add all ingredients to a cocktail shaker and shake well. Allow to rest for about 5 minutes.
  • In a shallow dish, on the bottom half add the chili powder. On the top half, add the sea salt.
  • Rim your margarita glass with lime juice and place your glass, rim side down into the chili powder & salt.
  • Add ice to glass and pour margarita mix into glass. Garnish with extra jalapenos or limes. Cheers!
