minutesWhether it’s movie night or just for a snack because you are in the mood – popcorn never gets old! While there’s nothing wrong with a good ol’ bag of microwavable popped popcorn, sometimes those bags are loaded with bad oils & preservatives. I promise, once you make homemade popcorn on the stove – you’ll never go back. The flavor is amazing, you can season it how you’d like – and it’s much more cost effective. Hope you love it as much as I do!
Ingredients
2 TB extra virgin olive oil
1/2 cup popcorn kernels
salt
pepper
grated parmesan cheese
garlic powder
butter or olive oil to drizzle
Directions
- In a large saucepan or pot with lid over medium heat, add in the oil & popcorn kernels. Cover the pot, shimmy the pot so the kernels are distributed evenly and wait for the kernels to pop.
- Once the kernels start to pop, tip the lid just a cracked so the steam can escape, but that popcorn doesn’t!
- Continue cooking until popping slows. Turn off the heat and wait until kernels have stopped popping. Remove the lid & dump into your serving bowl.
- Drizzle the cooked popcorn with melted butter or olive oil. Use spices to season popcorn to your liking. Serve immediately!
