I can’t believe it’s already time to share what’s in my hospital bag! I remember when I eagerly bought my hospital bag months ago – I couldn’t wait to pack it & at the time it felt like it was forever away…but here we are! 36 weeks pregnant and in the homestretch!
I’ve talked with so many of you expecting mamas & thought it would be helpful to share what I’m packing for our hospital stay & baby’s arrival! Every mama is different, and remember that I am a *first time* *over-prepared* soon-to-be mama, so overpacking is inevitable because I’m just really excited! Honestly, there’s nothing too out of the ordinary on this list – it’s probably just everything you’ve seen before in these types of posts…but I did end up with some really comfy items that I wanted to share to hopefully make your stay more comfortable too! Full list + links to everything is down below! xo
MY BAG:
Striped Button-Down Night Gown // sooo soft + easy access for nursing with the button-down style. I sized up to a large!
Spanx Nursing Bra // this one is more of a splurge but is SO comfy in all of the areas. I would say it runs a little small. I’m also packing this nursing bra from Nordstrom – it’s more affordable & also comfy! I would say the Spanx bra just has more support.
Washable Nursing Pads // great to place in your bra to protect your clothes from leakage!
Mini Handheld Stroller Fan // yes, this is intended for baby haha, but SO many moms recommended to strap this to your hospital bed to stay cool during labor! Especially with giving birth in the middle of a TX summer, I see this coming in handy for both me & baby!
Laneige Lip Balm // my favorite hydrating lip balm
Silverette Soothing Nursing Cups // another recommendation from lots of mom’s! These are apparently great for sore or tender nipples during those first few days of latching/feeding.
Portable Phone Charger // because I’ve heard the hospital outlets are in really inconvenient places!
Pillow Slide Sandals // the COMFIEST sandals ever for swollen feet! Also waterproof so can double as shower shoes while in the hospital.
Mini Dimmable Nightlight// I’ve heard this can really come in handy during the night for feedings/checking on baby if you don’t want to turn on the harsh hospital room lighting!
Mini Oil Diffuser // To mask all of those hospital smells + provide a soothing/calming environment!
Comfy Joggers & Sweatshirt // to go home in! will also bring a looser dress option as well.
Frida Mom Labor & Delivery Kit // I know the hospital will have most of this, but I’m packing my own options as well! Includes a comfy delivery gown (epidural friendly), grippy socks, peri bottle, disposable underwear, instant ice maxi pads, perineal cooling pad liners & perineal healing foam!
Hakaa Manual Breast Pump // to help express/collect any colostrum/breast milk for baby!
Mommy Bag // what I’m packing all of my stuff in! This is HUGE and waterproof so easy to clean!
