

Whipped Feta

minutesThis is a new recipe for us – and we actually tried whipped feta for the very first time at one of our favorite restaurants here in Austin. After that day, I couldn’t believe that I had never tried it or made it before – it was soooo delicious! Ever since I’ve been trying to perfect my own version – and I’m so excited to share it with you today. This makes a great appetizer or “dip” for protein, veggies or pita bread. This will give your usual hummus a run for its money!
Ingredients
4 oz feta cheese
4 oz cream cheese (at room temperature)
1 TB olive oil
1/2 tsp minced garlic
juice from one squeezed lemon
1 TB honey
1/2 tsp dried basil
1/4 cup sliced or crushed almonds
fresh basil leaves
Directions
- Add all ingredients but honey & crushed/sliced almonds into a food processor until fully combined and smooth.
- After you have reached the whipped, smooth texture – spoon out into a serving bowl. Drizzle honey overtop, garnish with basil and sliced almonds.
- Serve immediately with warm pita or vegetables.
