This Fall I shared a fall scent-inspired “pot”-pourri recipe, that you can simmer on your stovetop and wait for it to magically fill your entire home with seasonal, delicious smells! Now we’re back with a new “pot”-pourri recipe that will leave your home smelling like the North Pole! (or what I would hope the North Pole smelt like, haha!)
This also makes a great gift for friends, family, neighbors, co-workers, teachers – you name it! Just bottle up all of the ingredients, make it look pretty & voila – a homemade gift that everyone will love! I found these printable tags on Etsy that are super cute & give some directions on how to make the “pot”-pourri. I found these glass jars at my local HEB grocery store – mason jars or any other type of jar with a lid would work perfectly! Plastic or cellophane baggies would also work great. I just added some fresh garland to the outside as a little garnish…feel free to use ribbon, a bow, extra rosemary, or even cute bells!
Here’s what you need to make each jar:
- 1 medium whole orange
- 4 large cinnamon sticks
- 1 TB whole cloves
- 1 TB whole allspice
- 1/2 cup fresh or frozen cranberries
- fresh rosemary sprigs
If you aren’t using pre-made printable tags, here’s a sample of instructions to include on your tag or card:
“Add contents to saucepan or mini slow cooker. Add 2-3 cups of water. Simmer on low, uncovered. A splash of vanilla is a nice touch, too! Add additional water as needed.”
