Remember in elementary school, when birthdays were a HUGE deal and you got to bring your favorite treat for your entire class to celebrate? Well, this was what I brought every year – and I swear my mom was famous for it, haha! It’s such a fun, creative spin on your average cupcakes…and let me telly ya, the kids will LOVE them! This is a perfect recipe for a busy mom – who has time for homemade cupcake batter & frosting anyways? Just get a box of your favorite cupcake mix, and voila – the perfect birthday treat!
Ingredients
1 box your favorite cupcake mix (I always opt for funfetti!)
12 flat bottom cake cones
1 container frosting of your choice
sprinkles
Directions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Follow box instructions when making cupcake batter.
- arrange cones in muffin tin, standing one cone up in each tin.
- Carefully using a tablespoon, fill each cone a little over 1/2 of the way full. Don’t get too close to the top of the cone, or the will overflow!
- Place in oven and bake for 15-20 minutes, or until you see the cupcakes rising and turning a golden brown. Test with toothpick after the time is up.
- After cupcakes are cooled, frost & decorate with your favorite sprinkles or toppings. Store in airtight container or make sure the are covered until ready to serve!
