minutesNick & I love a good cocktail/nightcap while we are winding down from a crazy day! Especially during the pandemic – we got really good at the whole at-home bartender thing. I won’t lie – I wasn’t a big Old Fashioned drinker…until next started making them! He’s a sucker for a well-made Old Fashioned and I thought it would be so fun to share his go-to recipe. It’s nothing too out of the ordinary from your average Old Fashioned recipe…but he definitely puts his own spin on it! Cheers!
Ingredients
2 oz. bourbon (Nick loves Eagle Rare!)
.5 oz. water
.5 oz. simple syrup
8 drops orange bitters
1 orange
dark sweet cherries (canned)
- Simple Syrup
1/2 cup sugar
1/2 cup water
2 cinnamon sticks
Directions
- Make the simple syrup. In a small saucepan over the stovetop, add the sugar, water & cinnamon sticks. Simmer until sugar is dissolved and starts to turn a brownish color from the cinnamon sticks. Let cool.
- In a cocktail glass, add all ingredients and stir. Drop in ice cube, add cherry & garnish with an orange peel. Cheers!
