minutesIt’s like s’mores…but without the campfire! I named this trail mix Campfire Crack for a reason….IT’S ADDICTING! Dangerously addicting & so flavorful! Growing up, one of my favorite cereals was Golden Grahams so the fact that this is the base of the mix = game-changing. What really takes this Campfire Crack to the next level is the melted marshmallow/butter/vanilla mixture…it holds it all together and adds a sweet flavor in every single bite. Make this for your next cabin or lake weekend – it will be a crowd favorite!
Ingredients
1 12 oz. box golden grahams cereal
1 bag bag mini marshmallows
1 12 oz. bag semi-sweet chocolate chips
1/2 cup butter
1 tsp. pure vanilla extract
1 cup shredded coconut
Directions
- While you prep the rest of the mix, throw the bag of chocolate chips in the freezer! This will prevent them from totally melting when you add them later on.
- In a large bowl, combine the golden grahams & coconut. Mix until combined & set aside!
- In a medium saucepan over medium heat, melt the butter. Stir until almost melted and then
slowly add in 5 cups of marshmallows. - Stir until almost melted and then add vanilla extract.
- Remove the mixture from heat, let it cool for about a minute & then pour into the Golden Grahams/coconut mixture. Gently stir to evenly coat the mix. Also, add remaining marshmallows!
- Take chocolate chips out of freezer & add to mix.
- Continue to gently stir until evenly coated. Then, pour mixture out onto parchment paper and allow to set for at least 20 minutes. Break into pieces & enjoy!
- Store in an air tight container & in the fridge overnight. This will prevent it from getting too sticky/gooey.
