SHE’S HERE! Can y’all believe it?! It still doesn’t feel real – we are just so obsessed with our sweet Charli Grace! She was born July 15th at 7:35am, weighing in at a teeeeeny tiny 6 lbs, 4 oz exactly at 41 weeks. It’s been such a magical, wild ride so far & the first three weeks have truly flown by!

I’ve learned SO much in the few short weeks that we have been a family of three – and while I am by no means an expert, y’all know I always love to help you out as much as I can when it comes to sharing things that work for me & things that could potentially work for you, too! Same goes for your sweet babies. If I’ve learned anything so far, it’s that every baby is different, and has different preferences. But, I thought it may be useful to share some of our most-used, most raved about products that have helped us out tremendously in the first three weeks of being Charli’s parents.

Whether you are building your registry, or in the newborn phase yourself searching for a solution or perfect fit for your baby, or wondering if a certain product is worth the hype – I hope this helps! Good luck mama! xo

DockATot Baby Lounger // loungers are EVERYTHING! Especially in the early days when they don’t move much & can’t roll over. It’s a great way to give your arms a break & get some things done while they are snoozing. Perfect for tabletops, beds, couches, etc. We actually keep this lounger in the halo bassinet for daytime (supervised) naps & rest times in our living room!
Snuggle Me Organic Infant Lounger // This is another lounger that we love. If I’m comparing the two, I would say that the DockATot is a little bit bigger & I could see her using it longer as she grows. The Snuggle Me is beautiful & cozy, just a bit more “snug” – which is truly perfect for the newborn phase!
MagneticMe Magnetic Footie Sleepers // Ain’t nobody got time for buttons in the middle of the night! We *love* these sleeper onesies for quick & easy changes during the nighttime. They are so soft & lightweight, too. This is what we put Charli in underneath her swaddle for sleeping!
Love To Dream Swaddle UP // Even in Charli’s ultrasounds, her arms were always UP! This swaddle is AMAZING for babies that love to have their arms up/hands by their face. For the first couple of weeks when we weren’t using the motion feature on the Snoo, we would just put her in this swaddle & use the Snoo as a stationary bassinet. We only use swaddles at night & I think it’s really been great for her differentiating day & night!
Baby Bjorn Bay Carrier Mini // For the first three weeks, I think this carrier takes the cake for the comfiest, safest for newborns & easiest to put on without assistance. On days where she doesn’t want to be put down, this carrier is my saving grace! It fits both Nick & I perfectly.
Halo Swivel Bassinet // This was the first thing we bought when we got home, haha! We quickly realized that we didn’t have a super safe place to put her out in our living room/kitchen (where we spend most of our time). The loungers are great, but we didn’t feel comfortable with just leaving her in a lounger on the couch with our dogs jumping up and down. So, we have this bassinet set up in our living room and it’s been PERFECT! I highly recommend having two bassinets, especially if you like to always have eyes on your babe or have a two-level home.
2-Way Zipper Footie Sleepers // Another type of sleeper onesie we love – the two-way zip! Easy access for quick and frequent changes!
Coterie Diapers // I didn’t *want* to love these…but dang I do. I had lots of girlfriends speak highly of this diaper brand when it comes to quality, comfort & holding in *all* of the things…so I had to try. And they were right! They are only sold online & a bit pricier than the ordinary diapers, but if you have the extra $$ to spend, I think it’s worth it & love their subscription service. Their wipes are JUMBO and amazing, too!
Lou Lou & Co Shorty Rompers // With Charli being a July Texas baby, I was SO worried about keeping her cool when we were out and about doing things. These shorty rompers have been what she has been LIVING in. I had a couple, and after a few wears – ordered a ton more because of how soft, cute, lightweight & easy they are to put on and take off. If you have a summer newborn, these are a must!
Munchkin Bluetooth-Enabled Baby Swing // This was the swing we went with and I’m so glad we did! I wasn’t sure if we would be able to use it this early, especially with Charli being so extra petite…but the newborn insert was perfect & she loved it! This is great for her when we cook & eat dinner, or need to take a shower!
Tommy Tippee Slow Flow Bottles // probably my favorite bottles we have used! The nipple is very “breast-like”, they don’t leak, and they are slow flow which is great for mamas that integrate bottles while breastfeeding. She has no problem going back & forth! These are super easy to clean, too.
Comotomo Slow Flow Bottles // another favorite bottle for Charli. These are also very easy to clean, soft & squishy…and also emulate a breast with the nipple shape.
Portable White Noise Machine // we don’t go anywhere without this! It’s how Charli has stayed asleep/comfortable when we are out to dinner or on walks. I just hook this to the top or place inside her bassinet stroller!
High Contrast Baby Flash Cards // Newborns need stimulation! These flash cards MESMERIZE her & keep her “entertained”, it’s truly amazing!
Uppababy Vista V2 Stroller // so happy we went with this stroller! The bassinet feature has come in CLUTCH so many times – and it’s also so easy to clip in our carseat if we are on the go and don’t want to bring the bassinet.
Doona Infant Car Seat/Stroller // This was something we did *not* have at first – but we caved and purchased it after hearing so many recommendations when it comes to traveling & convenience. This is a carseat with a built in stroller – you don’t even need a carseat base (it does come with one, though). This is going to be SO clutch for traveling or solo adventures with Charli – it goes from a carseat to a stroller in seconds. The hype is real!
WubbaNub Infant Pacifier // I don’t know what it is about these dang pacifiers..but she loves them. We try to only give them to her in case of emergency – but it always soothes her!
BIBS Infant Pacifier // the only other pacifier besides the WubbaNub that she’ll take & keep in her mouth!
SNOO Smart Sleeper Baby Bassinet // I was a little apprehensive about this because of the price – and honestly, we tried it the day we got home and the motion just freaked me out given how small she was. So, we decided to turn off the motion & only use it as a stationary bassinet for the first 2.5 weeks. But, this week we turned it on (with the baseline/motion limiter on) – and she has been LOVING it. She’s been consistently sleeping 3-4 hour stretches through the night, only waking up to feed & going right back to bed. I love the app & the info it gives you, too! As she gets older & needs to feed less throughout the night, I think the Snoo will really help her with those long stretches. We are a fan!
