It’s the time of year where a lot of y’all gather your family to take family photos! Whether it’s just for a sweet keepsake, or for holiday cards – family photos are something that I know that I cherish and look forward to every year. We take family photos once a year, which I know will be so fun to look back at years from now & see how we have changed! We just shot our family photos for our holiday card last week, and since a lot of you may be doing the same – I thought that I would round up some great basics that you could wear for photos!

When it comes to family photos, I have a few preferences that I think really contribute to great family photos. I think my biggest rule of thumb is to keep it simple. I always opt for a solid, neutral top with jeans or a pretty skirt – because I know that Nick is going to probably be wearing a color or flannel. I try to coordinate the colors we are wearing so they aren’t too matchy-matchy, but at the same time, still compliment each other in whatever scenery we are in. We personally like to be casual, in clothes that we would normally wear, but I do love the idea of a glam/dressed up shoot…maybe we’ll do that next year!

This year, and every year – I use Minted to create our holiday photos. It’s so easy – there are hundreds of gorgeous, unique templates to choose from crowdsourced talented graphic designers & artists around the world. All you have to do, is drop your photo in, maybe add a personal message & voila…your holiday cards are done & ready to go! Another really big convenience and time-saving feature that Minted has, is the option to load in your address book, and have all of the envelopes pre-printed with all of your family & friend’s addresses on them. You can customize these, too – so many gorgeous options for envelopes and return labels as well. So once your shipment comes (quickly – Minted is so fast!) – all you have to do is stuff the envelopes, seal them, stamp them & they are on their way! I’ll never use anywhere else for our holiday cards! This year, I used the “Arched Blessings” Christmas card template!

While we are talking about Minted – did y’all know all of the beautiful holiday gifts & wrapping they offer?! The most gorgeous, high-quality & unique wrapping paper, ribbon, gift tags & more to really wrap up your holiday gifts in the most beautiful, special way. I also gots some of my holiday shopping done on Minted’s gift portion of their website. There are tons of photo-customizable gifts available like puzzles, art, calendars and pillows – along with fun gifts like aprons, stationary, custom bags & accessories, and more! Definitely check out their site for some really meaningful, beautiful gift ideas.
